Who We Are

We are a group of Christians from a variety of cultures and walks of life, who are committed to following the teachings of the bible and to reflect the character of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.

We gather as friends and family each week but we recognise the need for unity with the wider Christian community and so have formed good relationships locally, regionally, and nationally with other like minded people from across the denominations.

Our name, New Life Christian Centre, reflects our experience of becoming and living as a Christian. The bible tells us if anyone becomes a Christian, they are a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come, hence New Life.

On a national level, we are members of the Assemblies of God group of churches; one of the largest group of churches in the world.

On a local level, we are members of Wakefield Churches Together and Wakefield for Jesus, two interdenominational bodies based in the city. Our senior pastor, Kevin Foster is chairman of Wakefield for Jesus.

We join together with Churches Together, in local projects as well as the annual, Christian Unity week held in January; Good Friday March and Pentecost Celebration.

On a more relational than geographical level, we are part of the Ground Level network, an interdenominational and country wide grouping of churches. We attend their annual celebration event called ‘One’ at the Lincolnshire showground.
