Message - The church you see?

Church often gets a bad press and despite all the good things that flow from it every day, every week, every month, every year, we tend only to hear of its failures.

Church will never be perfect-if you are looking for the perfect church make sure you dont join, because youre sure to ruin it.

Church is made up of imperfect people.

NLCC is full of people like me and if you dont mind me saying,you-if youre imperfect, then sign up now, join the club, youll be welcome here.

The Church I see was a series looking at the Church we are, the church we want to be and importantly, the journey we are making towards it.

I spoke on the church I see as being a safe place, (not everyone has had this experience of church) a visionary place (where individuals can be released to pursue what God has called them to do), and a welcoming place(where we become and sense, this is home and this is family).

We are all on a journey and if we or church has let you down(and we will because we are human beings) then Im sorry, but dont let that continue to rob you of what God has for you and your family.

Jesus said that he would build his church

The apostle Paul told us that we are co-workers together with Christ.

Ever worked with a craftsman?

How about a master builder? They really are special people!

Ive worked on two church building programmes and came to appreciate the skill of such wonderfully talented people.

Today and everyday, Im working together with the master builders of all master builders-our common goal- to build his church.

Someone came to a service recently and told me that the last time they had been to NLCC was when it had pews(12 plus years ago).

Church had changed, it is changing and it will change.

How about coming to church just for a change?

Come and see church, come and meet the master builder, come and receive him and his calling in your life.
