You are invited to become a supporter of the Sunshine English Club in Vaslui, Romania This is a new project in the suburbs of the town of Vaslui (population approx. 70,000) in Eastern Romania, south of Iaşi, where there is considerable poverty and deprivation. The Sunshine Club project aims to bring education and hope, in the name of Jesus, to children and families in these economically desperate communities. Daniela and Leonard Lupu have responded to God’s call to them to return to their home town of Vaslui in Romania and make a difference in the lives of children, young people and their families in that locality. Inspired by God’s love for the poor and under-privileged, their vision is to open a centre for supplementary education and extra-curricular / social activities. The aim is to provide learning resources and activities, in an environment where the love and grace of God are the driving forces, including:
Most children do not have any out of school activities (except homework!) because of the pressure on their parents in this very economically constrained community. How can you support the Sunshine English Club?
Is God calling you to go to work with Daniela and Leo in the Sunshine English Club, either in the holiday club team (for a month in summer) or in the term-time activities (for a minimum of three months)? Assistance is needed particularly in helping children of all ages to learn through play, creativity and collaboration in a Christian and predominantly English-speaking environment. Daniela and Leo will be returning to Romania in early September 2011.
