Message - a Roman Past!

The big front page headlines in the Wakefield Express was Wakefields Roman past unearthed?.

Apparantly the local archaelogical digger went deeper than planned and has discovered Roman and Viking relics which raises the possibility that the city existed before 1066.

Local historians are calling for the building of the new �3million Arthouse project (planned on top of the site) to be delayed to allow for more discoveries to come to light.

This new discovery changes local history-what was a fact yesterday and one that could not be challenged, has in fact now changed forever. Perhaps we could all consider finding out more about each other if we could dig a little deeper....or perhaps that might not be such a great idea!

Maybe there are skeletons in our cupboard that we want no one to know about, perhaps we have a history that shames us or a relative that taints us.

On reflection perhaps we would rather build our new Arthouse equivalent, and cover over the past for a few more years?

The bible says that God knows us from our mothers womb, that he knows when we rise and when we sit, he knows our first day and our last, that nothing is hidden from his sight.

 Your Arthouse project may hide your past from me but it can never hide it from God. The Christian has a past as all of us have, but that past cannot taunt us or condemn us any more. Forgiveness, a new slate, a clean start is what Christ offers to everyone who will believe.
